Not so short on horror

Apparently I'm beginning to make a name for myself creating wholly 'unholy' set dressing. On this particular set more than one familiar crew member saw me and said 'of course it was you'.

Without giving too much away, this particular set involved tweezering dead flies onto windowsills, caking food onto a portable stove for a week, and copious amounts of tea staining. Since art directing my first short 'Hungry Joe' for Shunk Films in 2019, quickly arranging the dingy and dirty has been second nature on horror film sets. Whoever said you can't monetise making a mess? Take that mum.

James Kennedy's 'Maggie' (trailer released only weeks ago, and already it has three film festival noms) is a lot more than mess. It tugs a little at the heartstrings as well as turning stomachs. making for more than a fun genre flick for the multi-award winning director.

After art directing and set dressing for the shoot in February this year, I've also helped James edit the theatrical poster (above), and started on a yet to be announced project (watch this space).

Shot by the impeccable repeat offender James Oldham, the short is starting to make the rounds on the festival circuit - so I'll let the Instagram trailer titillate you for the meantime.

Hopefully the next one involves a little less filth.
